I hit a wall with my weight loss last month. Ugh. Even though I watched what I ate (mostly!), those stubborn pounds wouldn't budge. · Smart carbs: A small serving of complex carbs before afternoon high-intensity sessions gives you energy. Half a banana works wonders for me.

My nutritionist (who, BTW, once made me keep a food diary that revealed my shocking gummy bear addiction) suggested thinking of elliptical calorie burn as "creating space" in my daily food plan rather than an excuse to eat more. This mindset shift was key to actually losing weight.
